Something to make you smile:

Here is a quote to motivate and bring a smile to your face. Parenting can be hard, tune into this blog and find out possitive ways to keep life interesting and calm!

It’s not only children who grow. Parents do, too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can’t tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it myself

Have you Heard????

11-year-old invents backpack to stop bullying in schools

Have you heard? Makai Samuels- Paige (who was a 6th grader at the time) invented an Anti- Bullying Backpack.  Makai was unfortunately bullied in school because of his size and height. “I’m not one of the tallest sixth-graders,” said Samuels-Paige. “I’m one of the shorter ones, so when I get picked on, it makes me feel like I’m nothing, and I want to change that,” he said.

And that he did! Makai Samuels- Paige patented a backpack that has 2 camera, WIFI, GPS, & Walkie- Talkie system. This little genius has blazed the trail and found a way to solve a problem plaguing children all over the world.

Thank you, Makai Samuels- Paige for pushing past opposition and using your genius for good!

Fun with Playdough

If you have playdough and cookie cutters… then you have an opportunity for a good time! When it comes to fun with your little ones do not get complicated. Take out the good old-fashioned playdough and allow your children to make shapes and figures from the cookie cutters.

If you would like to take it a step further, ask your child to create a story using the shapes and figures they have created.

Enjoy!!!

Daily Prayer For A Child To Pray

Heavenly Father, I pray that you will forgive me for everything that I have done wrong. Lord help me to forgive anyone who may have hurt me and help anyone that I may have hurt or upset to forgive me.

Lord, help me to love others and do what You want me to do. Lord, help my family to be happy and love one another and not be sad or mad at each other. Dear Lord, please take care of my loved ones and protect and love them as they care for me. Please show my family how much You love them and that you will always be there for them. Teach us Lord to always come to You in prayer.

Lord, I pray for every member of my family and all of my friends to accept You into their hearts. Lord Jesus, heal the sick so they will live a long, happy and healthy life. Lord, keep every member of my family, principals, teachers, friends, classmates, and pets safe from any harm or evil. Help me Lord to get good grades in school. Lord, please protect the President, and all the leaders of our country and state, and their families.

Lord, keep our pastors, firemen, policemen, and all the soldiers, safe as they do their jobs. I pray for the poor and hungry that they will receive food so they won’t go to bed hungry tonight. Send people to help them and give them a place to sleep, and if they are sick please make them well and feel better. Lord I pray for the sick in the hospitals and prisons, please heal them, and tell them about Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, I ask you to bless everyone that I have prayed for today and send Your mighty angels to protect all of us and keep us safe.

In Jesus Name I pray.

Amen

Feel Good Reading

If you are wondering how to keep positivity in your home during this quarantine, check out this incredible book  by Gabi Garcia called, I Can Do Hard Things. Personaly, I found the book free on Amazon Kindle. It has incredible illustrations as well as powerful affirmations which encourages your child’s mind and heart during this difficult time.

My five year old read this book to me this moring and it blessed my heart. It reminded me of how strong God is and how we too are blessed even in crisis.

You have questions… We have answers

During our time at home I would like to highlight questions I have received through Raising Little Geniuses LLC .

One question is as follows:

When is the right time (age) to give children in the home chores and responsibilities?

Parents and guardians are looking for a condensed list of chores that are age appropriate for children. With everyone in the home, it is a great time to emphasize a sense of community and cohesion with all things, including chores.  I would like to highlight an incredible site http://www.raisinglittlegeniuses.com where you can email, call or text to get answers to your most pressing family questions.

Answer:

Maturity is the main component when matching a child with a chore. A child may be physically able to complete a task, but do they have the maturity? Can your child listen and follow directions concerning the chore?

For example, my 5-year-old would like to help with laundry. She is too young to work the machine, but she knows her colors and can help separate the items before going into the machine.

Please comment if you too have questions about children, family or cohesion. Selah
